The Lazy Tools (Fancier Version)

What are the Lazy Tools?

They are a collection of Photoshop actions i use often when porting. They are very convenient and save you many clicks and copy pasting. I decided to release them so you can all have a bit profit off my own laziness!


!!! All Textures need to be in TGA or DDS format for these to work!!!

What do they include?

  • General: Pure White Eraser: XPS does not support pure white color on ANY texture (RGB 255, 255, 255). This simple action makes the image one tiny step darker, invisible to us, but XPS will stop being a bitch.
  • AO: Correction B/W: An action that corrects brightness and smoothness on all AOs, except skin.
  • AO: Correction Skin: An action specifically for correcting skin AO maps. Adds slight pink skin color.
  • AO: Future Tone Skin: Similar to the one above, but uses different values to make a more subtle AO map. I use this only for Project Diva Future Tone skin AO maps, it may work for games with similar style too.
  • AO: FFXV Skin: Action specific for ingame FFXV skin AOs.
  • NMap: Dark Green Converter: Converts dark green normal maps to the typical blue color.*
  • NMap: Grey Converter: Converts grey normal maps to the typical blue color.*
  • NMap: Orange Converter: Converts orange normal maps to the typical blue color.*
  • NMap: Pink Converter: Converts pink normal maps to the typical blue color.*
  • NMap: Invert Green Channel: Inverts the green channel only on a normal map.
  • NMap: Invert Red Channel: Inverts the red channel only on a normal map.
  • NMap: SWTOR: An action made for the SWTOR game. Converts dark green normal maps to purple.
  • NMap: Warrior Games: Inverts normal maps properly for XPS use from the Warriors games by Tecmo Koei.
  • Warriors Game Diff&Spec: Aimed especially towards the older Warriors games, which have the alpha channel for the hair, etc plus the spec inside the same channel. This splits this one channel into the two seperate ones properly.
  • KOFXIV Hair Alpha: Fixes hair alpha on models where it is weird.
  • Batch: Save Compressed TGA: An action that saves space saving compressed TGA textures. Has to be loaded through Photoshop's Batch mode! Instructions click here!
  • Batch: Flip Image Y: Flips image vertically

* ATTENTION: This does not automatically mean your normal map is properly inverted. Check on this in XPS!

 

How can i install them?

Simply open the Actions tab in your PS, click the small arrow and select 'Load Actions', then select the Lazy Tools .atn file.
Tutorials on how to open Actions in PS are on Google, use that.
